There were these two little kids in pediatric oncology this morning, and one was this cute little boy with a mowhawk and glasses, and the other was this itty bitty girl who was losing their hair. And the girl’s mom walked up and said to the boy’s mom “She wants to ask his name, but she’s too shy.” and then they started playing together. And then I thought, what if I wrote a book about two kids who meet in treatment, when they’re little, and they grow up together as best friends, dealing with doctors and relapses together and end up falling in love, but one runs off, because they realize how easily the other could die, but then they relapse and almost die, and the other comes and finds them and they end up together?
Is that too weird?
Ugh I don’t care I’m gonna write now.

My Sisters Keeper? Her sister met a boy that she really liked… I dunno. Sorry for jumping in.

It seems like a strange thing to write about, kids who met because they had cancer.
